The Scholarship

This year’s scholarship is dedicated to advancing health equity, which can include but is not limited to research, raising awareness, community building, or increasing access to resources. The program will award a $7,000 scholarship to a Black, a Hispanic/Latinx, and an Indigenous undergraduate junior or senior.

Additional Selection Criteria

Requirements for eligibility include:

  • Be a student of color who identifies as Black, Indigenous, Hispanic, Latino/Latina, and/or Pacific Islander
  • Current junior or senior in pursuit of an undergraduate degree (as of Fall 2021)
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 from most recent college transcript
  • Demonstrated involvement in the advancement of health equity by impacting an obstacle created by a social determinant of health.  The social determinants of health are the non-medical factors that influence health outcomes.  They include education, housing, income, access to healthy food, physical environment, healthcare access, racism, and other forms of discrimination, among other community and social factors.
    • There are a large variety of ways to make an impact, such as organizing a local garden to help families who would otherwise not have easy access to nutritious food and having a passion for expanding this work.
    • This definition is intentionally broad to encourage applicants to creatively demonstrate the connection between their work and health equity in the essay portion of the application.

Application Process

How to apply:

  1. Go to to create an AIM account using your email address and chosen password.
  2. Log in to your AIM account to be taken directly to the Welcome page of The Healthline and Prevention Institute Stronger Scholarship Program application.
  3. Complete all required fields in the online application, and upload any required documents (such as GED certificate, high school transcript, college transcript, and/or ACT/SAT scores). As part of the application process, you’ll be required to upload answers to three essay questions.
  4. Click the Submit button on the Save/Submit page of the online application.

NOTE: The status “Complete” will display on your AIM home page when all forms have been submitted and all documents have been verified. Applicants are responsible for monitoring the progress of all application requirements to make sure their application is complete by 11:59 p.m. PST on April 30th. Late submissions will not be considered.

The Healthline and Prevention Institute Stronger Scholarship Program is administered by International Scholarship and Tuition Services, Inc. (ISTS).
