Kids with Courage Type 1 Champions Scholarship Program

We have been inspired many times over by the courage and strength of our kids and students who must battle Type 1, every day, forever.  Our students with Type 1 are Champions as they must face, battle, manage and endure daily medical procedures and protocol.  They find the acceptance needed, get through the hard, the good, and everyday moments bravely, with grace and wisdom.  Their inner strength helps them rise above difficulties in all aspects of their lives.  Kids With Courage is pleased to support the education of our amazing students who battle Type 1 diabetes.

Annual Amount

The Barry Dan Harsh Memorial Scholarship-$2,000

The Blaschke Family Scholarship-$1,500

The Landry Hodges Scholarship-$2,000

The Dylan Fansher Scholarship-$1,000

Additional Selection Criteria

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
To apply for a Type 1 Champions Scholarship students must meet the following requirements:

● Have Type 1 diabetes
● Be a graduating high school senior from a public or private school, a home schooled student or college student
● Be committed to using education to better your life and that of your family and/or community
● Academic Requirements: Good academic standing
● Financial Need Factor: Not a major influential factor
● Geographic Requirement: Reside in either the State of Missouri or the State of Kansas
● Major Field of Study: Open
● Citizenship: Be a US citizen or legal resident
● Be enrolled as a full time student
● Where award can be used: Any accredited 2-year or 4-year college or university in the United States
● Renewal Requirement: Annual application
● If selected for a Scholarship, student would need to make themselves available to attend small award ceremony in August, 2023 should gathering be possible

HOW TO APPLY
To apply for Type 1 Champions scholarships, please take the following steps:
1. Review requirements to verify your eligibility
2. Print and complete the application, checklist, certification, photo consent/release form (s)
3. Include/attach all supporting docs and your essays
4. Submit two (2) copies two (2) copies two (2) copies of your application and ALL documents
5. Submit current photo to be used in internal/external communications promoting Type 1 Champions Scholarship Program
6. Review checklist to make sure you've included everything
7. Mail application, all forms and supporting documents to:
