CFDA Scholarship Fund

Committed to supporting American fashion designers of tomorrow who are building a more inclusive, just, and equitable future for people and planet, the CFDA Scholarship Fund has awarded approximately $3.3 million and 352 scholarships between 1996 and 2022.

Annually, the CFDA discovers exemplary student talent capable to lead and captain change in the global fashion ecosystem. Recipients are selected using a holistic criteria of financial need, creativity, innovation, diversity, equity, and inclusion, and sustainability in fashion. Thanks to the donors of the CFDA Scholarship Fund, CFDA continues to invest in the future of American fashion.

For undergraduate juniors and first-year graduate students, enrolled in a fashion design program at an American college/ university.

2023 CREATIVE BRIEF
Submit a 360 DEI or Sustainability focused Womenswear, Menswear, Jewelry, or Accessories collection. Submissions may also demonstrate excellence in one or more of the following supported special focus areas:

3D Shape + Form • Material Innovation • Size Inclusivity • Smart Textiles • Tech/ Digital Craft

CFDA Scholarship Fund finalists have the opportunity to present their work to CFDA members and CFDA’s professional community including Abrima Erwiah, Avani Gregg, Brandon Blackwood, Dao-Yi Chow, Edvin Thompson, Emily Adams Bode Aujla, Mara Hoffman, Stacey Bendet, Steven Kolb, and more!

CFDA Scholars receive $25,000 – $50,000 and dedicated CFDA teams support CFDA Scholars in areas such as editorial and communications, material sourcing, marketing, production, and professional development.
